Terms of service
These Membership Terms and Conditions apply to all Laura Halls Pilates memberships, class bookings, studio services and use of the Laura Halls Pilates website and booking platform.
By purchasing a membership, creating an account, booking or attending a class, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
In these Terms, “Laura Halls Pilates”, “LHP”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to:
Laura Halls Pilates Pty Ltd
ABN 41 682 093 250
Level 2, 36–40 Queen Street, Woollahra NSW
Email: hello@laurahallspilates.com
“Member”, “you” and “your” refer to the person purchasing or using our services.
1. Membership eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a membership. A person under the age of 18 may participate only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian and with the prior approval of Laura Halls Pilates.
You must provide accurate and current contact, payment, emergency-contact and relevant health information when purchasing a membership or creating an account. You are responsible for notifying us if any of this information changes.
Membership applications are subject to studio capacity and approval. Joining the waitlist or submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee an offer of membership or access to a particular class time.
2. Membership options
Laura Halls Pilates offers ongoing group memberships paid by monthly direct debit and fixed-term annual group memberships paid upfront.
Membership options may include:
- two classes per week;
- three classes per week; and
- unlimited classes.
The membership selected at the time of purchase determines your class entitlement, membership fee, payment arrangement and any additional inclusions.
Memberships are personal to the named member and cannot be shared, assigned, resold or used by another person.
3. Ongoing group memberships
Ongoing memberships provide a weekly class entitlement and are billed monthly by direct debit.
Monthly membership fees are calculated using the applicable weekly rate across a 52-week year, divided by 12.
The available ongoing membership rates are:
Two classes per week: $120 per week, billed at $520 per month.
Three classes per week: $150 per week, billed at $650 per month.
Unlimited membership: $190 per week, billed at approximately $823 per month.
The exact amount to be debited will be displayed and accepted by you before purchase.
Ongoing memberships continue until cancelled in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
4. Annual group memberships
Annual memberships provide access for a fixed period of 12 months and are paid in full as a single upfront payment.
The available annual membership rates are:
Two classes per week: $5,500 upfront.
Three classes per week: $7,000 upfront.
Unlimited membership: $8,800 upfront.
Annual memberships offer an approximate saving of 10% compared with the equivalent ongoing membership rate. Any savings comparison is indicative and is based on the membership rates available at the time of purchase.
An annual membership begins on the commencement date confirmed by Laura Halls Pilates and expires 12 months later, subject to any approved medical suspension.
Where an existing member has unused sessions remaining in a current class package, the annual membership may commence after those sessions have been used. The commencement date will be confirmed by Laura Halls Pilates.
Annual memberships do not automatically renew unless an automatic renewal arrangement is clearly disclosed and separately accepted by the member.
5. Dedicated weekly schedules
A membership may include an agreed weekly schedule or regular reserved class times.
Reserved class times are allocated personally and remain subject to studio capacity, instructor availability, public holidays, scheduled closures and reasonable timetable changes.
A membership does not guarantee access to a particular instructor, apparatus, room or class time throughout the entire membership period.
Where a regular class time is changed or cancelled by Laura Halls Pilates, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a suitable alternative.
6. Payment authorisation
By purchasing an ongoing membership, you authorise Laura Halls Pilates and its nominated payment provider to debit the applicable monthly membership fee from your selected payment method.
You must ensure that your payment details remain current and that sufficient funds are available on each payment date.
If a payment is unsuccessful, we may contact you and attempt to process the payment again. Access to classes may be temporarily suspended while a membership payment remains outstanding.
Cancelling a payment authority with your bank or payment provider does not itself cancel your Laura Halls Pilates membership. You must also provide written notice to Laura Halls Pilates in accordance with the cancellation process set out below.
7. Cancelling an ongoing membership
An ongoing membership may be cancelled by providing at least two weeks’ written notice to Laura Halls Pilates.
Cancellation requests must be sent to hello@laurahallspilates.com or submitted through another cancellation method made available by the studio.
The two-week notice period begins on the date we receive your written request.
Your membership and class access will continue during the notice period. You remain responsible for membership payments falling due during that period.
Your membership will end once the two-week notice period has expired and all membership amounts properly due have been paid.
Where a payment adjustment is required to reflect the membership end date, the adjustment will be processed within a reasonable period.
We will provide written confirmation of your cancellation and the effective membership end date.
8. Pausing an ongoing membership
An ongoing membership may be paused for a total of up to four weeks during each 12-month period, free of charge.
At least 48 hours’ notice must be provided before the requested pause begins.
Pause requests must be submitted in writing to hello@laurahallspilates.com or through the nominated membership platform.
Membership payments and class access will be paused for the approved period and will resume at the end of that period.
Pause periods may be taken consecutively or separately, subject to the total annual allowance of four weeks.
Unused pause time does not accumulate or carry into a later 12-month period.
A membership pause does not guarantee that the same regular class time will remain available when the member returns, although Laura Halls Pilates will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the member’s usual schedule.
Additional pauses may be considered by Laura Halls Pilates in exceptional circumstances but are not guaranteed.
9. Annual membership cancellations, refunds and transfers
Annual memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Annual memberships cannot ordinarily be cancelled, transferred, assigned, shared, resold or converted into another person’s name.
Refunds will not ordinarily be provided because of:
- a change of mind;
- travel or holidays;
- relocation;
- work or family commitments;
- scheduling conflicts;
- failure to attend;
- failure to use all available classes; or
- another change in personal circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
Where Laura Halls Pilates is legally required to provide a refund, credit, replacement service or another remedy, the applicable remedy will be provided.
10. Medical suspension of an annual membership
Annual memberships cannot ordinarily be paused. A medical suspension may be available where an illness, injury, pregnancy-related circumstance or other medical condition temporarily prevents a member from participating safely.
A request for medical suspension must:
- be made in writing;
- be submitted as soon as reasonably possible;
- include supporting documentation from a registered medical or allied-health practitioner; and
- state the period during which the member is unable to participate.
Supporting documentation does not need to disclose more personal medical information than is reasonably necessary to support the request.
Where a medical suspension is approved, the annual membership will be suspended for the medically supported period and the membership expiry date will ordinarily be extended by the equivalent approved period.
Medical suspensions will not ordinarily be backdated unless exceptional circumstances prevented the member from submitting the request earlier.
Laura Halls Pilates may request updated documentation where the suspension period is extended.
We may also request appropriate medical clearance before the member returns where this is reasonably necessary for their health and safety.
An approved medical suspension does not ordinarily entitle the member to a cash refund.
Where medical documentation demonstrates that a member is permanently unable to participate, Laura Halls Pilates will consider the individual circumstances and provide any remedy required under applicable law.
11. Weekly class entitlements
Two-class and three-class memberships provide the corresponding number of classes during each membership week.
Unless otherwise confirmed in writing:
- unused weekly classes do not accumulate;
- missed classes do not roll over;
- unused classes cannot be converted into cash or credit;
- classes cannot be gifted or transferred to another person; and
- unused classes cannot be carried into a later membership week.
An unlimited membership provides access to available classes during the active membership period, subject to bookings, studio capacity and reasonable-use requirements.
An unlimited membership does not guarantee that every requested class, instructor or class time will be available.
12. Class bookings
All classes must be booked through the nominated Laura Halls Pilates booking platform or arranged directly with the studio.
Bookings are subject to availability.
You may only book and attend classes in your own name. You must not allow another person to use your account or membership.
Members should arrive in sufficient time to begin the class at its scheduled start time.
Late entry may be refused where it would disrupt the class or where the instructor considers participation unsafe.
13. Class cancellations and non-attendance
The class cancellation period displayed in the booking platform or otherwise communicated by Laura Halls Pilates applies to each booking.
Where a member cancels after the applicable cancellation deadline, does not attend a booked class or arrives too late to participate safely, the class may be treated as used.
For two-class and three-class weekly memberships, the missed class will not ordinarily be credited, refunded or carried into another membership week.
Repeated late cancellations or non-attendance by an unlimited member may result in reasonable booking restrictions. This is intended to protect class availability for other members.
Members are responsible for managing their bookings, including bookings that form part of a regular weekly schedule.
14. Classes cancelled by Laura Halls Pilates
Laura Halls Pilates may cancel, reschedule or change a class because of instructor illness, emergencies, studio maintenance, safety concerns or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where we cancel a booked class, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative class, replacement booking, credit or appropriate extension.
A class cancelled by Laura Halls Pilates will not be treated as a member cancellation or missed class.
15. Public holidays and studio closures
The studio may close on public holidays, during the Christmas and New Year period, for maintenance, instructor training, private events or other scheduled breaks.
Planned closures that form part of the studio’s annual timetable do not automatically entitle a member to a refund, provided the membership continues to provide substantially the service described at the time of purchase.
Where an unexpected or extended closure materially affects the services available under a membership, Laura Halls Pilates may provide an extension, replacement classes, credit or another appropriate remedy.
16. Membership and price changes
Laura Halls Pilates may change the prices applying to ongoing memberships by providing reasonable advance notice.
A changed price will not take effect before the date stated in the notice.
Where a material price increase applies to an ongoing membership, the member may cancel the membership before the new price takes effect by providing written notice.
The price of an existing annual membership will not change during its fixed 12-month term.
Laura Halls Pilates may make reasonable changes to class times, instructors, equipment, studio policies and service delivery, provided the essential membership service remains substantially as described.
17. Health information and disclosure
You are responsible for ensuring that Pilates is suitable for your individual health and circumstances.
Before participating, you must disclose any information that may reasonably affect your ability to exercise safely, including:
- current or previous injuries;
- recent surgery;
- pregnancy or postnatal status;
- diagnosed medical conditions;
- pain, dizziness or restricted movement;
- medications that may affect exercise; and
- medical or allied-health advice limiting your participation.
You must promptly notify your instructor if your health or physical condition changes.
Laura Halls Pilates may require medical clearance before you begin or continue participating where this is reasonably necessary for your safety.
Failure to disclose relevant information may limit our ability to modify exercises or provide an appropriate session.
18. Exercise risk and medical advice
Pilates and other forms of physical exercise involve inherent risks, including physical strain, falls, aggravation of an existing condition, illness and injury.
By participating, you acknowledge that:
- you are voluntarily participating in physical exercise;
- you will follow reasonable instructions provided by your instructor;
- you will work within your own ability and physical limitations;
- you will notify your instructor of pain, dizziness or unusual discomfort; and
- you will stop participating where instructed or where you believe continuing may be unsafe.
Laura Halls Pilates services are provided for general fitness and wellbeing purposes. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation or physiotherapy.
You should obtain advice from an appropriately qualified medical or allied-health practitioner where required.
Laura Halls Pilates does not guarantee any particular fitness, health, rehabilitation or aesthetic outcome.
19. Illness and studio hygiene
You must not attend the studio while experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness or where attending may create an unreasonable health risk to another person.
Members must follow reasonable studio hygiene, attire, safety and equipment requirements communicated by Laura Halls Pilates.
Laura Halls Pilates may refuse entry or ask a person to leave where reasonably necessary to protect the health or safety of members, instructors, employees or contractors.
20. Member conduct
Laura Halls Pilates is a private and considered studio environment. Members must behave respectfully toward instructors, employees, contractors, guests and other members.
Members must not:
- engage in threatening, abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate conduct;
- harass or intimidate another person;
- deliberately damage studio equipment or property;
- interfere with another member’s experience;
- attend while affected by alcohol or illicit substances;
- use studio facilities for an unauthorised commercial purpose; or
- photograph, film or record another person without their consent.
Laura Halls Pilates may ask a member to leave or temporarily suspend their access where their conduct creates a safety risk or materially disrupts the studio.
21. Suspension or termination by Laura Halls Pilates
Laura Halls Pilates may suspend or terminate a membership where the member:
- seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms and Conditions;
- engages in unsafe, threatening or inappropriate behaviour;
- fraudulently uses or transfers a membership;
- repeatedly fails to make membership payments when due;
- deliberately damages studio property; or
- creates a material risk to another person.
Except where immediate action is reasonably required for safety or serious misconduct, we will generally notify the member of the issue and provide a reasonable opportunity to respond.
Where Laura Halls Pilates ends a membership for reasons unrelated to a member’s breach, we will provide an appropriate adjustment, credit or proportionate refund for the unused service.
22. Personal property
Members are responsible for their personal belongings while attending the studio.
To the extent permitted by law, Laura Halls Pilates is not liable for property that is lost, stolen, misplaced or damaged at the studio, except where the loss or damage was caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care.
Items left at the studio may be held for a reasonable period before being donated or disposed of.
23. Photography and recording
Members must not photograph, film or record an instructor, another member, a private session or studio material without prior permission.
Laura Halls Pilates will not use an identifiable photograph or recording of a member for advertising or promotional purposes without appropriate consent.
Security or operational footage may be collected where reasonably necessary and will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
24. Accounts and booking security
You are responsible for keeping your account login details confidential and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
You must not:
- share your account credentials;
- interfere with the booking platform or website;
- attempt to bypass booking or membership limits;
- reproduce or scrape website content; or
- use the platform for an unlawful or unauthorised purpose.
25. Third-party platforms
Laura Halls Pilates may use third-party providers to manage bookings, payments, direct debits, communications and website services.
Your use of a third-party platform may also be subject to that provider’s terms and privacy practices.
Laura Halls Pilates is not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of a third-party provider. We will, however, take reasonable steps to assist where a provider issue materially affects a service purchased from us.
26. Website content and intellectual property
All Laura Halls Pilates website content, class materials, methods, written resources, photographs, videos, graphics, branding, logos and other intellectual property are owned by or licensed to Laura Halls Pilates.
They are provided for personal and non-commercial use only.
You must not copy, reproduce, record, modify, distribute, publish, sell, commercially exploit or create derivative materials from our content without prior written permission.
27. Promotions and special offers
Promotional offers, introductory packages, complimentary classes and special membership releases may be subject to additional conditions displayed at the time of the offer.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional offers:
- cannot be exchanged for cash;
- cannot be combined with another offer;
- are personal to the recipient;
- cannot be transferred; and
- are subject to availability and any stated expiry date.
Promotional terms do not exclude any rights available under applicable law.
28. Privacy
Laura Halls Pilates may collect personal information and sensitive health information reasonably required to:
- administer memberships and bookings;
- process payments;
- communicate with members;
- support safe participation;

You should provide medical documentation and sensitive information only through the contact method nominated by Laura Halls Pilates.
29. Electronic communications
You agree that membership confirmations, booking notices, policy updates, invoices and other service-related communications may be provided electronically.
Service-related communications may still be sent where you have opted out of promotional marketing.
You may unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link provided or contacting Laura Halls Pilates.
30. Liability and Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Laura Halls Pilates is not responsible for loss, damage or injury caused by:
- a member’s failure to disclose relevant health information;
- failure to follow reasonable safety instructions;
- participation against medical advice;
- misuse of studio equipment or facilities;
- the unauthorised actions of another person; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where our liability can lawfully be limited, it will be limited to the extent permitted under applicable law.
31. Events outside our control
Laura Halls Pilates will not be responsible for a delay or failure to provide a service caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, public-health restrictions, utility or technology failures, building access restrictions or government action.
Where such an event materially prevents us from providing membership services for an extended period, we will consider an appropriate extension, credit, alternative service or other remedy.
32. Complaints and contact

33. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
Laura Halls Pilates may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes to our services, policies, systems, operational practices or legal obligations.
Updated Terms and Conditions will be published with a revised “Last updated” date.
Material changes will not be retrospectively applied to substantially disadvantage an existing fixed-term member unless required by law or agreed with the member.
34. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
The parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of New South Wales and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
35. General
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be read down or removed to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
A failure by Laura Halls Pilates to enforce a provision does not waive its right to enforce that provision later.
These Terms and Conditions, together with the applicable membership description, payment authorisation, Privacy Policy and any specific terms accepted at the time of purchase, form the agreement between the member and Laura Halls Pilates.
Where specific membership terms confirmed at the time of purchase conflict with these general Terms and Conditions, the specific membership terms will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
